Why You'll Want To See This!

The Sixth Sense was unexpectedly the second largest film of 1999, only being beaten out by Star Wars: Episode 1. A thoughtful and empathetic horror movie directed by a young Indian American director, The Sixth Sense took everyone by surprise as an unexpected masterpiece which holds up to this day.

Bruce Willis at his best. Known for action flicks like Die Hard and The Fifth Element, Willis alongside his co-star Haley Joel Osment thrive in their restrained roles as tortured Psychologist and kind but troubled child.

A queer psychological thriller. The Talented Mr. Ripley hinges on the relationship between Tom Ripley (Matt Damon) and Dickie Greenleaf (Jude Law) and Riply's own obsession with the super wealthy lifestyle. This film is 1999's Saltburn.

Star studded cast! Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Blanchett, Philip Seymore Hoffman, and a very fresh faced Matt Damon. The Talented Mr. Ripley pulled together all the talent in Hollywood in the late 90s.

Why You'll Want To See This!

The height of spectacle. Following the likes of The Terminator and Jurassic Park, The Phantom Menace was the pinnacle of practical and computer generated effects in 1999. The film is a masterwork in its time of costume design, set design, special effects, and CG.

Duel of the Fates. John Williams created one of the greatest themes of all time to accompany the film's climactic final battle.
