Looking for a unique venue to make your next event unforgettable? The Hyland Cinema is available to rent for a wide variety of occasions—from private film screenings and concerts to book launches, author talks, stand-up comedy, and film premieres.
We’re proud to welcome all kinds of events, including community fundraisers, promotional screenings, business meetings, film festivals, press previews, benefit nights, film club gatherings—and even the occasional wedding or surprise proposal!
The Hyland is a unique, historic cinema with 400 seats and convenient onsite parking. Our distinctive venue makes every occasion memorable.
Pricing
Weekday (Mon-Thurs) matinee rate of $225 / hour (+ HST), minimum two hour rental.
Weekday (Mon-Thurs) evening rentals & weekend morning (before 12pm) rate of $340 / hour (+ HST), minimum two hour rental.
Weekend (Fri-Sun) matinee and evening rate of $450/h (+ HST), minimum two hour rental.
Film licensing and additional fees may apply.
Concessions at The Hyland Cinema
Make your event even more enjoyable with snacks and refreshments from The Hyland Cinema’s concession stand. We offer all of our classic concession items, including our famous popcorn, a selection of candy, caramel corn, soft drinks, nachos & cheese and our famous Hyland blend coffees.
We offer two convenient ways to handle concession purchases:
Individual Purchases: Guests can buy their own snacks and drinks at the counter.
Group Tab: All concessions can be charged to a single tab for your event.
You also have the option to pre-order items in advance for group tabs.
Staffing for Your Event
All theatre rentals include a minimum of one on-site manager to oversee technical operations, as well a concession staff member to serve your guests.
Additional staff will be scheduled as needed, based on the size and requirements of your event.
Cancellation Fee:
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your event at The Hyland Cinema, we kindly ask that you provide more than 7 days’ notice.
This allows us the opportunity to rebook the time slot for another event.
Please note:
Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled event will incur a non-refundable cancellation fee of $250.00.
